Campus :
Macquarie University’s North Ryde campus is uniquely located in parklands only 30 minutes drive to Sydney Harbour. In 2009, we became the first university in Australia to have its own train station on campus. Bus services have also been revamped, making it much easier to get to Macquarie than ever before.
We have established a new set of learning and teaching values, principles and priorities. These include conducting ourselves ethically, and with honesty, integrity and objectivity; valuing difference and being tolerant; and by promoting diversity, equity, social justice, and inclusiveness.We take a scholarly approach to teaching which is characterized by passion and leadership, critical thinking and analysis, academic freedom and collegiality, and intellectual integrity.
Research :
Our goal is for Macquarie to rank amongst the top 200 research intensive .universities in the world by 2014.acquarie researchers are also supported by our unique internal research funding program which is designed to support all academic staff to develop their research skills so they can contribute to the creation of new knowledge of national and global importance. Our internal scheme includes funding for research fellowships, research development grants, Vice Chancellor’s Innovation Fellowships and a Research Centers Scheme.
Macquarie researchers are also prolific authors, producing books, book chapters and journal articles at nearly double the rate of the national average over the last few years.
